The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is accepting nominations for its 2022 Ovation Awards which acknowledge individuals who demonstrate exceptional work in or support of New Jersey’s accounting profession. Awards will be distributed across the following seven categories: Emerging Leaders; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Innovation; Exceptional Educators; Women to Watch; Impact; and Lifetime Leader.
The Ovation Awards are an opportunity to recognize those individuals who have gone above and beyond to move the accounting profession forward this year, the past few years or over a lifetime. Those selected are currently leading by example, have significantly advanced the CPA profession, contributed to the success of female CPAs, mentored the next generation, or went out of their way to work towards maintaining diverse and equitable workplaces.
“Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, we are reminded of the great strides that CPAs and other accounting professionals have made to keep their organizations and their clients’ businesses afloat, but their untiring commitment to assist their fellow colleagues and give back to their towns and communities should also be appreciated,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.
Nominations are being accepted until Friday, April 29. Multiple entries are allowed, as are self-nominations. Only NJCPA members are eligible for the Emerging Leader, Women to Watch and Lifetime Leader categories, but nonmembers are eligible for the other awards.
Winners will be announced on June 16 during the 2022 NJCPA Convention & Expo, which will take place June 14-17 at the Borgata in Atlantic City. For more information about the awards and to submit a nomination, go to njcpa.org/ovation.
